The work required a redevelopment of an existing facility to meet the International Hockey Federations (IHF) requirement to host international tournaments. This comprised the construction of a new three-storey VIP stand with players and match officials change rooms and mixed zones on the ground floor, a VIP lounge, restaurant, media facilities and administration offices on the second floor on a turnkey contract. A separate building houses a three-storey hostel block with 16 rooms.
